^{LETTER FROM THE SSAGA PRESIDENT}

I would like to introduce myself to you as the President of the Sunshine State Amateur Golfers Association (SSAGA). My name is Willie David Curry (aka David or Dave).

I am extremely excited to be leading this organization, one that I have been a member of for thirty plus years. I look forward to collaborating with you to leverage new opportunities and increase our membership. I have served as Vice President of SSAGA and the President of 2Up Golf Club of Miami, Inc., from its inception in 2005. I am a retired educator with professional and practical leadership experience. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to meet and fellowship with members of various clubs throughout the state of Florida. In my new roe, I am looking forward to joining forces with you as we continue to build a better and stronger SSAGA.

My personal goals are to strengthen the relationships between the SSAGA and its affiliate clubs; to increase the enthusiasm each will bring to the organization, to engage everyone to work collaboratively to grow the organization, and execute our mission and purpose through our communities.

My other goal is to lead us back to our SSAGA mission and purpose. I am sure some may ask the question, “What is our mission and purpose Mr. President!” Our mission is “To revitalize and grow a diverse and inclusive golfing community by fostering connection, mentorship, and opportunity for golfers of all ages and skill levels. SSAGA is committed to establishing a stable and consistent tournament schedule that promotes friendly yet competitive play between affiliate clubs, strengthening camaraderie and engagement. Through strategic partnerships, empowering youth programs, and impactful community initiatives (e.g., scholarships), we aim to preserve our legacy, inspire the next generation, and ensure that golf remains a unifying and thriving force in our communities.”

Our vision is to reignite passion for golf within our community by fostering stronger connections among affiliate clubs, establishing a stable and consistent tournament schedule that encourages competitive play, and embracing innovative programs to attract new members. SSAGA envisions a future where our affiliate clubs thrive as hubs of camaraderie, growth, and competition, preserving the legacy of diversity in golf while inspiring participation at all levels. Together, we will empower the next generation of golfers and ensure a vibrant, unified golfing community for years to come.

The purpose of the SSAGA is to help people in our communities and build relationships between fellow golfers through the game of golf. Together we will thrive!
